CMS has finalized the 2024 reimbursement and the physicians will take a haircut, not just a trim.  They will receive a 3.4% reduction in their Medicare billings plus the decrease due to inflation.  This is unacceptable and needs to be fought so physicians get an increase in pay.  Remember if there is ever a takeover then physicians across the country can and will unionize.  Watch for Great Britain like strikes in the future.  Congress needs to intervene and stop this stupidity.  However, the AMA has lost almost all its clout with the GOP due to its policies and the Dems are not embracing the organization.  Physicians are dead in the water.  They are also taking back money from the hospitals but are increasing the amount they pay the hospital outpatient sections including the hospital owned physicians offices which should get the same decrease as the physicians..

The administration is proposing changes to Medicare Advantage plans.  They want insurers to be required to remind seniors about what's available in terms of the extra benefits offered by he plans.  They also want insurance brokers to not receive any incentives to steer patients to Medicare Advantage plans.  They also want to require the plans to staff enough mental health professionals and have made non-physicians eligible for Medicare payments in order to facilitate that proposal.        Top
