Blue Shield of California is limiting coverage for out of state healthcare of its PPO members.  They are limiting coverage to emergency or urgent care or follow-up to those.  The state has no law requiring such coverage.

New York City's mayor has ordered the city to cover healthcare for all the city's people whether illegal or not.  They will be seen in the city clinics and will cost the city $100 million, so they say.        Top

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in Florida has lost its CEO VP and the deputy director of the hospital's heart institute.  They all "resigned" as did the chief of surgery.  This is all secondary to the reported hospital's high mortality rate in the heart program.  

The Cleveland Clinic fired a resident physician for her anti-Semitic comments on social media.  Lara Koliab is no longer with the program.

Vox has a story about Zukerberg San Francisco General Hospital, the major trauma center for San Francisco.  The take no private insurance so the are out of network for all.  Under California law they may collect only the negotiated rate or 125% of Medicare. 

Ellwood City Hospital in Pennsylvania, has significant problems.  The small hospital had their employee's paychecks bounce and then did not issued checks due December 21.  they think they will get their next checks but are not sure.  The hospital is owned by for profit Americore Health.          Top
