The administration is not thinking again.  This time they announced a proposal that would allow federal agencies to break patents of high cost drugs that the feds used their money to fund.  This will lead to lower drug costs now but will stifle innovation.  Buy now and mortgage the future.

The feds are putting money into the pot to help rural hospital and their ambulance services be protected against cyberattacks.  At the same time it will increase fines for those institutions that do not have cyber security and get attacked.

Biden is using an old cold war law to institute a supply chain resilience council.  He hopes this will allow more domestic production of medical products.

The Michigan Nursing Board has permanently revoked the license of Judith Sobo who was sentenced to 30-75 years in prison for murder of a 3 year old while under the influence.

Pennsylvania has enacted a law that imposes consent to have medical students perform pelvic or rectal exams on someone under anesthesia..  There will be a $1000 fine at a minimum for violations.  This is becoming much more common at at least 20 states have some law that is similar on the books.  

The administration has identified 48 drugs where prices rose more than inflation.  They are going to penalize those companies who work with Medicare.  This was authorized under the Inflation Reduction Act that passed Congress with no Republican votes and the deciding vote by the Vice President.

California is kicking itself again.  The Socialistic state is now giving illegal aliens full Medicaid coverage starting the first of the year.  This include free dental which many of us non-illegal aliens do not get.  The state is doing this in the face of a huge $68 Billion deficit.  Idiocy.        Top
